Liz Stainforth, 2018 Postdoctoral Fellow, reports on her recent workshop, Exploring Digital Public Spaces:
Last month, on 1 June, IASH hosted the ‘Exploring Digital Public Spaces’ workshop, which I organised as part of my Postdoctoral Fellowship project. The workshop was funded through the Susan Manning Workshop scheme.
We were saddened to hear of the death last month of Sir Kenneth Scott KCVO CMG, a Visiting Research Fellow in 1998. He was Deputy Private Secretary to the Queen between 1985 and 1996, having previously been UK Ambassador to Yugoslavia. While at IASH, Sir Kenneth worked on his book St James's Palace: A History, published in 2010 by Scala.
Next week, starting on Monday 20th November, Postdoctoral Fellow Dr Freya Gowrley will lead our second Twitter Takeover, where we hand over control of the IASH Twitter feed (@IASH_Edinburgh) to a Fellow. Freya has been at IASH since September, having completed her PhD in History of Art at Edinburgh last year. Here she outlines her current research:
