My involvement with IASH has been eye-opening for me in terms of the scope, scale and sheer depth of the research that emerges from Hope Park Square. It continues to inspire me: looking back to my first encounter with our much-missed former Director Susan Manning, when over a cup of tea we discussed the enlightenment links between India and Scotland, or to seeing how Jo, Peta and the team have taken forward the Dangerous Women project. I’m delighted that IASH is managing to engage a wider audience in Edinburgh, in Scotland and worldwide, while compromising neither on the intelligence nor the vibrancy of the work.
