Dr Elizabeth Stainforth – University of Leeds
Postdoctoral Research Fellow March - June 2018
My research investigates digital heritage and memory cultures. I am also interested in theories of utopia and critical studies of history and heritage. The topic of my PhD research - ‘Defining the Problem of Tomorrow’s Memory: The Time of Cultural Heritage in the Digital Age’ - was influenced by my interest in issues relating to digital heritage collections and philosophies of memory and technology.
Project: Shifting Landscapes of UK Digital Heritage: Perspectives from the Humanities
My project explores the landscape of UK digital culture and heritage against a backdrop of political uncertainty about the future shape and extent of national heritage cultures. It looks at the humanities context for digital heritage, with an emphasis on the dialogue between digital practices, cultural policy and public heritage institutions.
