Dr Robert Winstanley-Chesters

Dr Robert Winstanley-Chesters is an AKS Teaching and Research Fellow at the University of Edinburgh. Prior to this Robert worked as a Lecturer at York St John University, Bath Spa University, University of Leeds, Birkbeck, University of London, as a Research Fellow at Australian National University (under Professor Tessa Morris-Suzuki's ARC Laureate Fellowship project 'Informal Life Politics in the Remaking of Northeast Asia') and as a Post-Doctoral Fellow at the University of Cambridge (under Professor Heonik Kwon's AKS Lab project 'Beyond the Korean War').

Dr Barbara Castillo Büttinghausen

Dr Barbara Castillo Büttinghausen is an Early Career Teaching and Research Fellow in Hispanic Studies at the University of Edinburgh. Previously, she held posts as Assistant Language Tutor at the University of Birmingham, Associate Teacher at the University of Bristol, and Associate Lecturer in Latin American Studies at the University of St Andrews. She studied Latin American Studies, Spanish Literature and Comparative Literature at the Freie Universität Berlin.

Dr Natalia Stengel Peña

Dr Natalia Stengel Peña received her PhD in Latin American Studies at King’s College London. Previously, she studied Sociology and Modern and Contemporary Art in Mexico, her home country. Her thesis Awareness, Denunciation and Pedagogy: the Rhizomatic effects of Mexican Feminist Artivism Against Gender Violence: a Qualitative Approach delved into the intricate realm of how artistic social initiatives are empowering women with tools to confront gender-based violence in Mexico.

Dr Matti Wilks

Dr Matti Wilks is a Lecturer in Psychology. Prior to this she completed her PhD at the University of Queensland and was a postdoctoral researcher at Princeton and Yale Universities. Dr Wilks uses approaches in social and developmental psychology to understand our moral motivations and actions.

Dr Sneha Roy

Dr Sneha Roy is a British Academy Postdoctoral Research Fellow at the School of Divinity at the University of Edinburgh. Prior to that, she was the Programme Officer for Fellows Programme at KAICIID International Dialogue Centre, Vienna. Broadly, her interest is anchored in the complexity, conformation, and contradictions around ‘agency’ and ‘infrapolitics’ in extremist discourses.

Dr Timothy Jacob-Owens

Dr Timothy Jacob-Owens is an Early Career Fellow in Citizenship Law and Policy at Edinburgh Law School. He was previously a Research Associate with the Global Citizenship Observatory, based at the European University Institute (EUI) in Florence, where he remains affiliated as a Senior Research Associate and UK country expert. Tim has held visiting positions at King’s College London and the WZB Berlin Social Science Centre and has also worked at the European Centre for Minority Issues and the Council of Europe.
