My current research focuses broadly on the relationship between citizenship, colonialism, and the law, primarily in the context of the British Empire and contemporary Commonwealth. I am particularly interested in how formerly colonised groups, such as members of the Windrush generation, have sought to use the law in campaigning for citizenship rights in the UK and whether and how their efforts have been stymied by the law’s ongoing coloniality. My other interests include human rights, minority rights, and immigration law.
