Alex Wafer and Angus Bancroft: Digital platforms and the Informal Economy in Johannesburg
In the presentation we will be reporting back on two small research projects, looking at the use of digital platforms among youth in an informal settlement in Johannesburg, and the experience of drivers using ride-sharing apps, respectively. Then we will present some of our (still nascent) attempts to think through the data that we have gathered.
