For new early-career staff members at the University of Edinburgh
The Institute proudly announces the opportunity for new UoE colleagues to become part of our community of research. IASH was established in 1969 to promote interdisciplinary research in the arts, humanities and social sciences at the University of Edinburgh.
It provides an international, interdisciplinary and autonomous space for discussion and debate. Since its foundation, more than 1,500 scholars from over 70 countries have held Fellowships; and up to 28 Fellows are in residence at any one time. Housed in a secluded 19th-century courtyard overlooking the Meadows, the Institute is adjacent to most centres of University activity.
"I really enjoyed the inclusive and warm culture of IASH. All the activities, seminars and workshops were very valuable to me. I appreciate all the support offered to me this year, most importantly the continuous pastoral and academic care and guidance... which gave me my faith back in academia!"
