Biography

Kate holds a PhD in Media and Communications from Goldsmiths College, University of London and has taught journalism at the University of Roehampton. Prior to this, she worked as a journalist at BBC World Service Radio, as well as a theatre producer and arts festival manager. She will be taking up a post as the Chancellor’s Fellow in the Cultural and Creative Industries at the University of Edinburgh in October.

Biography

Martha McGill completed her PhD at the University of Edinburgh in 2016, with a thesis entitled ‘Ghosts in Enlightenment Scotland’. Her research interests are in Scottish religious culture, natural philosophy and folklore from the Reformation to the early nineteenth century. She has tutored and lectured on early modern and modern Scottish history, as well as tutoring early modern European history.
