Robert Chapman is a neurodivergent philosopher and is currently a Senior Lecturer in Education and Autism at Sheffield Hallam University. They have previously worked at the University of Bristol, King's College London, and the University of Essex. They are best known for their work on autism, neurodiversity, and disability theory as well as for their blog Critical Neurodiversity. Their first book, Empire of Normality: Neurodiversity and Capitalism, will be published by Pluto Press in 2023.
Project Title: Neurodiversity: A Very Short Introduction
Robert Chapman and Professor Sue Fletcher-Watson will be using this time to work on their forthcoming book Neurodiversity: A Very Short Introduction. This book will provide students, researchers, and professionals and activists with a broad and accessible introduction to the neurodiversity movement and its new paradigm. At the same time, it will provide the first general overview of the emerging field of neurodiversity studies, clarifying its utility for politics, policy and practice.
