Dr Peta Freestone

Administrative Manager

Dr Peta Freestone manages major projects and the office team, oversees the day-to-day affairs of the Institute, and supports the Director in strategic activities.

She completed an interdisciplinary PhD at the University of Melbourne and studied as a Commonwealth Scholar at the University of Edinburgh in 2009-2010, returning in 2014 as a Visiting Research Fellow, before taking up her post in the Institute in June 2014. Between 2006-2014, she worked in various project management and researcher development roles at the University of Melbourne, and won a University Excellence Award for innovation in 2013. A published author, her most recent research interests focus on the writing process in both creative and academic contexts.

Having studied, tutored and lectured across a diverse range of disciplines in the humanities and social sciences, she has a deep appreciation and interest in the exciting work of IASH’s fellows and friends.
