
Joshua Rivkin is the author of Chalk: The Art of Erasure of Cy Twombly, a New York Times Book Review Editors’ Choice and finalist for the 2019 PEN/Jacqueline Bograd Weld Award for Biography. His first collection of poems, Suitor, is forthcoming. His poems and essays have appeared in The New Yorker, Southern Review, Virginia Quarterly Review, and Best New Poets. A former Fulbright Fellow in Rome, Italy, as well as a Stegner Fellow in poetry, he has received awards and scholarships from the Sustainable Arts Foundation, Fine Arts Work Center in Provincetown, Bread Loaf Writers' Conference. He lives in Salt Lake City, UT with his family.
He will be spending January to May 2020 in residence at IASH where he will be working on a book of personal essays and a new collection of poems.
