An annual Fellowship of six months for an established scholar in any aspect of Hume studies. We are most grateful for the funding provided by The Hume Society, The Scots Philosophical Association, and IASH Fellows and supporters which means we are able to offer the Fellowship for five years. We are looking for additional funding to enable us to develop the fellowship for many years to come. If you would like to donate to the Fellowship please contact the Director or email iash@ed.ac.uk - The Daiches-Manning Memorial Fellowship in Eighteenth Century Scottish Studies
The fellowship is the result of a collaboration between the Eighteenth-Century Scottish Studies Society, the American Society for Eighteenth-Century Studies, and the Institute for Advanced Studies in the Humanities (IASH) at the University of Edinburgh. It is being established to honour two eminent and much-missed scholars of eighteenth-century Scottish literature and culture: David Daiches (1912–2005) and Susan Manning (1953–2013), both former Directors of IASH. IASH has provided a space and academic home to nearly 1000 scholars from over 60 nations around the world. We are keen to share the unique opportunity of joining the IASH scholarly community as broadly as possible, and would value any general support for international scholarships or any other part of the work of IASH.
