Hello, everyone! My name is Rutendo, and I am very excited to introduce myself as the new IASH and RACE.ED Communications and Events Intern. I was born and raised in Zimbabwe, currently study International Relations and International Law, and will be going into my 3rd year this September. Being from Zimbabwe, I have always been curious about decolonial studies and race studies, especially from the Global South perspective, which is what drew me to this internship. I am grateful for the opportunity to assist with IASH’s Institute Project on Decoloniality, as well as contribute to the amazing work being done by RACE.ED. As the Communications and Events Intern, I am committed to promoting diverse research, teaching, and knowledge exchange work within the critical race studies and decolonial studies domains. I believe that decoloniality is crucial in academic spaces, and I am determined to contribute meaningfully to this mission.
Hi! I’m Amy and I have just finished my 3rd year studying Philosophy and French and I have recently returned from my year abroad in Rennes. I am thrilled to be working as GENDER.ED’s events and communications intern this summer. I am interested in how gender permeates other subjects, and I can’t wait to get involved in projects that promote an understanding of the role gender plays across the disciplines studied at the University of Edinburgh. I will be helping to collate the latest book within the Dangerous Women Project as well as creating accessible ways to discover archive resources and helping to organise events. Collaborating with RACE.ED and IASH will also provide an amazing opportunity to organise exciting events and embark on new projects.
