We are very pleased to have a new addition to the Sprigge Room library at IASH. Leemon McHenry, Professor of Philosophy at California State University, is a former student of Professor Sprigge and was instrumental in the foundation of that library. His latest publication , The Event Universe. The Revisionary Metaphysics of Alfred North Whitehead , argues that events, not substances, are the fundamental units of reality. An interview which discusses, amongst other things, this challenge to the long-standing Aristotelian tradition in which events are dependent on substances, and the problem of how to conceive of the nature of time, can be found here. Leemon was an IASH Fellow in 2009 and 2013.
