An evening of Indian Classical Music
A date for your diary: 22 February 2020 for a very special concert of Indian Classical Music at the fantastic venue of Beetroot Sauvage, 33-41, Ratcliffe Terrace, Edinburgh EH9 1SX
On this occasion you will have a chance to hear the very rare Rudra Veena, the most revered of North Indian Classical stringed instrument, accompanied by Jorhi, a special pair of drums from the Sikh tradition. The Rudra Veena plays rag music in the Dhrupad style, which is very calm and meditative and has deep roots in Indian spirituality. We are incredibly lucky in Scotland to have such devoted musicians as Arfan Iqbal and Hardeep Singh (Sodhi) to let us experience this music.
You’ll also get the chance to hear the music of sitar and tabla performed by Dr Alec Cooper and Laurence Howells accompanied on tabla by Sodhi.
This is a concert not to be missed! Tickets on the door £10 or £5 concessions. Spaces are limited I’m afraid. Check out our event page here.
