The project is delighted to welcome Sir Michael Marmot, Professor of Epidemiology at University College London and immediate Past President of the World Medical Association, as its first public lecturer. Sir Michael will speak on the the role of status in health inequality, drawing on his books, The Health Gap: the challenge of an unequal world (Bloomsbury: 2015) and Status Syndrome: how your place on the social gradient directly affects your health (Bloomsbury: 2004). The lecture will be followed by a reception.
