Ram ke Naam: Running time: an hour and twenty minutes.
Ram ke Naam is a 1992 documentary by Anand Patwardhan on the Vishwa Hindu Parishad's campaign for building a Ram Temple in Ayodhya, at the site of the Babari Masjid. Exposing the communal, socio-religious and the political tensions at the time, the film navigates different camps active on the ground then in Ayodhya and opens it for us to understand one of the most communal episodes in the history of the country. It indeed is political and blatantly so and thus has earned its "anti-Hindu" tag from the critiques on the Right. At the time when the Supreme Court is set to pass its verdict on the Ayodhya case, this film will bring a perspective to the discussion that will follow around the verdict.
