The National Library of Scotland presents a talk by recent Digital Scholarship Visiting Research Fellow Prof. Leith Davis. Leith will speak about her IASH project, examining the context and content of the manuscript, 'The Lyon in Mourning'.
The manuscript is a collection of speeches, letters, poems, written accounts and transcribed conversations. It was compiled between 1746 and 1775 by Bishop Robert Forbes after the Jacobite loss at Culloden in April, 1746. Prof. Davis will also present some results from the ongoing 'Networking Jacobites' project, a Digital Humanities collaboration between Simon Fraser University's Centre for Scottish Studies and the National Library of Scotland.
Free tickets can be booked via Eventbrite.
