John Dewey’s statement that democracy is not just a political system, but also a “mode of associated living” has inspired philosophers and educators to think seriously about critical issues surrounding living together in inclusive, pluralist, and just societies. Academics, practitioners, students, teachers in schools, and policy makers are invited to discuss questions concerning the relationships between education and democracy today.
