IASH Fellows and Affiliates are welcome to join the following training event:

The College of Arts, Humanities and Social Sciences is pleased to announce a training event for ECA staff and postgraduate students on open access publication for practice-based research. This event comes out of research completed as part of the CAHSS Open Access Portfolio Project, which has run from August 2023 to May 2024. The project aimed to make the practice-based portfolios of ECA staff submitted as part of REF2021 published on an open access platform.

This half-day seminar and workshop is aimed at ECA staff and practice-based postgraduate students who are interested in learning more about open access research, including navigating copyright, the creation of practice-based portfolios and updated guidance for submitting portfolios to REF2029. The afternoon will include presentations from the Open Access Portfolio Project team and ECA staff whose portfolios have been made open as part of the project. Further, staff will be on hand to answer questions regarding copyright and plans for REF2029. Tea and coffee will be provided, and the event will close with a reception where ECA research staff and practice-based students will be able to meet and discuss their work. We do hope you will join us in celebrating the completion of the Open Access Portfolio project and take advantage of the opportunity to hear from ECA colleagues on their experiences with practice-based and open research.
