Dr Rebecca Georgis (University of Alberta / IASH): "Into the minds of young children": An interdisciplinary exploration of otherness and stereotype formation in the early years
Abstract:
Can early childhood experiences hold the key to reducing prejudice and breaking stereotypes? This presentation will (a) provide a brief overview of research from psychology, education, and neuroscience related to stereotype formation in the early years and (b) discuss the potential (and complexity) of an interdisciplinary approach to theorizing about intergroup relationships and early childhood programming.
