The Institute for Advanced Studies in the Humanities proudly announces the 28th in our Occasional Papers series. Essays on Decoloniality: Volume 1 is the first collection of essays to emerge from the Institute Project on Decoloniality. The volume includes chapters by former Fellows Dr Ali Kassem, Dr Sandeep Bakshi, Dr Rachael Scally, Professor Ted Trost, Dr Bharti Arora and Dr Jayita Sarkar. The book also features a foreword by previous IASH Director Professor Steve Yearley, and an introduction by IASH alumna and series editor Dr Désha Osborne.
Topics range from an exploration of decolonial queerness to the Rohingya people of Myanmar's role in decolonisation, as well as a history of the Edinburgh Medical School and Royal Infirmary, literary entanglements of land, caste and solidarity, and more.
Several authors will present their work at the book launch, and there is an opportunity to ask questions to the authors and editors. Register free to attend via Eventbrite: https://essaysondecoloniality.eventbrite.co.uk
