Ada Lovelace Day 2017

 

The University of Edinburgh’s Information Services team would like to invite you our 2017 Ada Lovelace Day event on Tuesday 10 October: celebrating Women in STEM. The sessions are free, open to all and are now live for booking. The event is being held at the James Clerk Maxwell Building and this year there is a special focus on Women in Chemistry and the 19 petitioners to the Royal Society of Chemistry in 1904.

·        11am to 2pm: Talks and Fun Science/Tech activities. (Book your place).

·        2pm to 5pm: a Wikipedia edit-a-thon to create/improve pages on Women in STEM while indulging in Ida Freund’s Periodic Table cupcakes. (Book your place).

·       5pm to 6:15pm: Film screening of A Chemical Imbalance and panel discussion chaired by Anne-Marie Scott with Professor Polly Arnold, Professor Jane Norman and Dr. Carole Morrison. (Book your place).
