Reverberations of the call to decolonise are being felt in academia across the globe today, with debates about what constitutes knowledge, how knowledge is produced, whose knowledge counts, and why to democratise the curriculum taking centre-stage. As feminist scholars, ensuring that our research methodologies and pedagogical strategies are as diverse and inclusive as possible is central to our engagement within the academy. This day-long workshop brings together early career and established scholars interested in engaging with the methodological and pedagogical challenges faced in the process of decolonising feminist research and/or teaching.
This workshop is being organised as part of a 2.5 year UGC-UKIERI funded project, Teaching Feminisms, Transforming Lives, involving staff and students from Ambedkar University Delhi, India and the University of Edinburgh, UK, and is supported by the Centre for South Asian Studies, GenderED, Sociology, and a grant from the Principal’s Office.
It’s free to attend this event, however, tickets must be booked in advance. To view the full programme and to register, please click on the link here: https://www.eventbrite.co.uk/e/decolonising-feminist-knowledge-reflections-on-research-and-curriculum-tickets-60276833632
