IASH is a member of the European Institutes for Advanced Study (EURIAS) Fellowship Programme – an international researcher mobility programme offering 10-month residencies in one of 18 participating institutes around Europe.
The Programme welcomes applications worldwide from promising young scholars as well as from leading senior researchers. The EURIAS selection process has proven to be highly competitive. To match the Programme standards, applicants have to submit a solid and innovative research proposal, to demonstrate the ability to forge beyond disciplinary specialisation, and to show an international commitment as well as quality publications in high-impact venues.
In addition, IASH expects successful applicants to show how their research fits to the research priorities of the College of Arts, Humanities and Social Sciences, or of other groups social science and humanities researchers located elsewhere in the University of Edinburgh (e.g. in the School of Geosciences, or the College of Medicine and Veterinary Medicine). Successful applicants will provide evidence of a linkage between their research and the research strengths of the College, and we would expect applicants to make contact with researchers with cognate interests prior to submitting their applications. The attention of applicants is drawn in particular to the work of the International and Interdisciplinary Research Groups, supported by IASH, and preference will be given to interdisciplinary and ambitious projects which will lead to longer term collaborations between the EURIAS Fellows and researchers at the University of Edinburgh.
IASH is offering two junior fellowships under this scheme. The application period was 19 April – 8 June 2016 for Fellowships to be held in 2017-18. Full details of the scheme and how to apply are at: www.2017-2018.eurias-fp.eu.
